Jackson Tan is a Singaporean artist, designer and curator. (Born in 1974). Creative director of multi-disciplinary creative studio, BLACK. Founding partner of artist collective, PHUNK. Creator of Art-Zoo, a fun and immersive world that explores nature through the perspective of art. He has collaborated with brands and organizations such as Nike, MTV, Asian Civilisations Museum, DesignSingapore, Herman Miller and UNIQLO. Notable projects include the ubiquitous brand identity of SG50, to celebrate Singapore’s golden jubilee. CREATIVE©ITIES, an exhibition that maps the creativity of Asia-Pacific. His works are based around his personal obsession of “finding meaning” from signs and symbols. His artworks are featured in collections and exhibitions, including Singapore Art Mueum, MOCA Taipei, Venice Biennale and Fukuoka Asian Art Museum. He was awarded ‘Designer of the Year’ in 2007 by the President’s Design Award, the highest accolade for designers in Singapore.
