About Chef/Artist Janice Wong
Singaporean born, Janice Wong is a co-founder of Janice Wong Singapore and 2am: dessertbar. She has learned from some of the world’s best chefs, including US luminaries Thomas Keller and Grant Achatz, virtuoso Spanish chocolatier Oriol Balaguer, and prodigious French pastry chef Pierre Hermé
She has been named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef; for the second year running by the prestigious San Pellegrino Asia’s 50 Best for 2013 & 2014. Janice Wong also won the title of Pastry Chef of the Year from the World Gourmet Summit Awards in 2011, 2013 and 2015, including the title of Young Woman of the Year from Her World in 2012.
As an artist she has been invited to present her first solo exhibition debuted in Huis Ten Bosch Nagasaki featuring her signature edible art works in 2018 and recreated Underwater Labyrinth at the Singapore art Museum in 2016. She has also created her edible art work for the Feast of Versailles held in the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2018. Together with 4 other pastry chefs and Yotam Ottolenghi, she created an edible art experience inspired by the colours and architecture of the garden which has now been made into a movie
